I was in a p-shop in Grand Forks, ND many years ago and I'd have to say that it was geared for the guys, whichever way they wanted to swing. I now work close to one of the adult zoned districts in downtown Mpls and when I've gone to work in the wee hours of 4-6 AM, it is busy! All sorts of people just wandering around, in and out of the shops, men and women, so they must have a better marketing plan.
I'm not sure about the schools these days either, where does the money go? Too many come to school unprepared and with a bad attitude, which is mostly the parents' fault. But then there are the other half; I used to do admissions interviews for my alma mater and omg! so many bright, motivated kids with all sorts of great experiences. All is not lost, but it's too bad all students can't be challenged like that. Public schools are really factories or warehouses, they do ok with the average students with average ambitions; the students on either side of average are not well served. Heh, all my co-workers have heard my rant, I should probably shut up.
