I would be tempted to scold myself for making Eressetor's father the black-n-white bad guy that I tend to despise in stories except that I know how many people would completely agree with him. o.O
I don't think that I would apply LaCE rules to the extent that Eressetor would actually die, since I throw LaCE aside everywhere else. >:^]] Nonetheless, his father is give the option to believe that his son has fallen in love and is nursing a broken heart (that would heal very easily with a bit of love and support) or that his son was raped, which is something that might never heal, if we don't use LaCE as an excuse to ship him off to the Halls of Mandos. And when you consider that Elves live forever.... Maybe that's why Tolkien wrote LaCE in that way.
