I thought about including that too, to show that he does possess the same courage for battle as his brothers, but I also wasn't sure if it meant he was the leader of the Noldor in battle or just a mention that he was their leader in general. I personally think that it means that he went into battle since it's already stated much earlier that "Finarfin was set to rule the remnant of the Noldor in the Blessed Realm." But since the wording was ambiguous, I thought to hold off on that argument in favor of some of the others.
