I think I liked it best when Nelyo says “But I thank you for the wine and company, Olwë”. First my jaw dropped, then I laughed, then the little lover of tragedy I have inside of me peeked out of her hiding place and spoiled the moment by telling me how ironic it is that now they both sit together talking and drinking wine, while later Nelyo will be among those who kill Olwe's people. Meh.
Vingarie is a sweet girl. And her and Macalaure together are just so... awwww. (You must excuse my incoherence, but I'm trying not to use the word "cute", though they obviously are, hehe.) The interactions between the brothers are wonderful as ever. I think even without Macalaure's comments the reader would be able to see that everything is still not quite "alright" with Nelyo.
