The Schizophrenic Day
... not because I'm having hallucinations and delusions. Or, no more than usual.
But because it's a day that I was really looking forward to and dreading at the same time. So it feels rather ... crazy.
Lancelot had surgery today. I was dreading that. It's just a neuter--very routine--but the poor guy has been in and out of vets' offices since his accident a few weeks ago, and we just got him out of the e-collar (and off antibiotics and pain meds) only to be back to all that again. The good news is that Bobby called the vets' office an hour ago and Lance came through everything just fine. The bad thing is that it's never fun to have a little one in an e-collar and spacey on pain pills. He'll come home tomorrow morning.
Then, I've been looking forward to today because, tonight, we are going to Stars on Ice up in Hershey. This is an annual tradition for Bobby and me, but we are dragging my parents along this year too. Which, speaking of, they just arrived. So I'm off!
Thanks to everyone who sent Lance well wishes. I'll give him kisses for you. :)

(Hope to get you Daeron tomorrow--it is so close to done. I have the day to myself at last. I haven't had much of a break since I got back and have been a little less than up to even my usual slow-as-molasses standard.)

You're welcome for the greeting. No special thanks are necessary either. And Daeron ... it's really no hurry. I mean that. :) If you want to take a day to yourself, that's perfectly understandable after all you've been through of late. Believe me, I am beyond grateful to have you to write those bios in the first place. You do a fantastic job, and I know that I can be scatterbrained and not the easiest person to work with. ;)

Lance was already a pro with using the edge of the e-collar to bowl into the backs of Mommy's knees to get her out of his way. :^P I suspect that I'm in for a real treat this time around ...
(It was also so cute how he'd squeeze his little eyes shut as soon as he'd see the e-collar coming over his head because he knew that the loops for his collar tended to rub over his eyes. Ai. When can I pick him up from the vets'?? :)

And poor little Lancelot... hope he'll recover well!

The good news is that his surgery is laser surgery, which is supposed to be a much easier procedure. Alex had a regular surgery. We'll see. :)

Have fun at the show. :)

While on pain meds, Lance is fond of standing in the middle of the kitchen and just staring at ... nothing. Coupled with his cute little head in that stupid e-collar, it makes for a pitiful scene indeed.
