Well I also do recall (LOL, I wonder if this makes you re-read your own chapters again) that a while back, that Macalaurë, Nelyo and Fëanor were swordfighting in the woods (while the little ones played with wooden swords and this is pre Vingarië), that once Fëanor forced Maglor to fight with swords, he found his special way to fight with this weapon.
I remember this part too! (And after 350K words, remembering what I've written is often an issue! :^P) Nelyo recalls how Macalaure is so easily defeated in swordfights with their father, how he is often hurt, and how--recently--even Tyelko can nearly beat him. Feanaro puts on the blindfold as an exercise; Nelyo does meh but Macalaure really rock 'n' rolls. And so it begins. :)
I think I wrote this part, actually, after rereading that. I doubt I would have remembered it on my own!
Well you wrote a year of this family... in 52 chapters, a year has 52 weeks... So I say: this was meant to be :) Very full circle!
Okay, now I feel daft because I totally did not think of that!
