However, did you notice that in his moving speeches, in the Silm, he always says "we", when, in many cases, it should be read "I", or "we", as in "me and my sons and those 100% loyal to me". The very fact that he goes aboard the ships with his sons and the part of the Noldor that follow him without question, is proof of this, methinks.
