Hooray for long weekends and a chance to catch up on some reading!

I couildn't help but smile at the thought of Feanaro evading Namo for a decade within his own halls, he's just a guy who isn't going to be pinned down by someone who he perceives to be against him.

I have spent the better part of ten years chasing you. Alas, you are as stubborn in death as in life, and you eluded me. Or rather, you strove to where I felt sorry enough to allow you to elude me.” Mayhap he's saying that to save face with his most elusive tenet.

It will be interesting to see where this goes. On one hand, the Sil says that Feanaro will be in the Halls until the end of Arda, but on the other hand the Valar's job was to rehabilitate and rehouse any Eldar if they so wished, and I find it difficult to believe that Feanaro would accept permanent residence in the Halls. But on the other hand, Tolkien was all about repentance and I believe he would have required that before being released; the Halls wouldn't be like a modern jail where you serve a predetermined amount of time and then you're free to go. But I'm not sure how the Catholic idea of Purgatory fits in with this construct either.

I just don't see Feanaro humbling himself admit he did some bad things and to ask for forgiveness, but he's got a lot to think about and all the time in the world to think about it.

-Tryiing hard to look for any unreferenced pronouns, but I'm sure they've crept in.
