I find something unsettling about representations of humans that are too close to reality, imho.
Well, since you're into horror, then. . . here's something fun for you to do. When next you go visit Sharon and Kirsty, have them take you to Madame Tussaud's. Yes, yes, shameless tourist attraction. But one that is extremely worth seeing. In particular, go into the room where they've got all the kings and queens. Marvel at the kings and queens. But the real wonder of that room is a figure that, if you don't know it's there, you'll either overlook it, or it'll scare the bejeezus out of you.
On one of the couches provided so that weary visitors can sit and rest their aching feet, you see what appears to be a frowsy lady in late middle age, slumped over fast asleep. It often takes people a few minutes, and possibly some commenting and poking, before they realize that she's a waxwork too. . .
