Insta-drabbling!

So today was a day for insta-drabbling....

This one started at 132 words and had to be mutilated trimmed for drabble purposes.

Oh, and "forge" wasn't one of the words. I added it, in honor of arandil13, who wasn't drabbling with us but usually does the us the favor of insisting upon forge. (As naughty drabbles have a habit of beginning in the forge!)

New Clothes and New Goals

Well, as of right now, Felak is outfitted in some new clothes for the first time in like three years.

My typical winter outfit is an ankle-length skirt with a pair of skating pants underneath and a pair of knee-high boots over them. With the skirt so long and the boots so high, no one can tell that I am wearing a pair of pants, and my legs stay nice and warm.

I love layers. I have been wearing short dresses over pants for years--and being made fun of for it--and then I started seeing mannequins in the storefronts wearing the same style. (It kind of annoyed me: damned mannequins, biting off my style!) The problem was that I only had one ankle-length skirt, so I ended up wearing a lot of trousers, and I'm not fond of trousers. I find them uncomfortable, unless they're my skating pants (which have lost most of their elastic and are quite unsightly).

So I got two new ankle-length skirts. The one (which I'm wearing now) is called a "gypsy skirt" and is mostly teal with patches of patterned cloth with a brown motif. I am a fan of brown and blue together, so this works for me. I also acquired a light, cottony layered cream-colored skirt. And--because my tall boots were splitting at the backs--a new pair of tall boots too. Two new skirts and a pair of boots is a big deal for me, yes.

So Felak is now winterized. And some pretty clothes might make me feel better about constraining my legs and feet and developing itchy winter rashes from all the long sleeves.
