Somehow I don't think Feanaro ever was one to forgive, if he had still been alive in the last scene he would have laughed at Nolofinwe offering a pardon - or more likely flown into a rage that Nolofinwe would presume that it is Feanaro who needed to be forgiven and not the other way around. But very much like Nolofinwe to make the first move.
