In chapter thirty-eight, we return to Tirion to witness the happy (?) reunion between Nolofinwë and Findekano. I'm keeping this chapter at a general rating, although it does contain some sexuality, but nothing graphic.

I had thought that I would have to rewrite the next chapter; as it turns out, the next two chapters are written and safe in my Date Deposit Box, so there should be no problem keeping up the twice-weekly posting schedule for at least another week. Hopefully, some time in the next week, Feanaro will forgive me for Finarfin Appreciation Month, and we can write the missing chapter together. We shall have to see.

As usual, all comments--good and bad--are appreciated. Thank you for reading!

Chapter Thirty-Eight )

Well, I spent the afternoon going through the next few sections of AMC. Originally, I had thought that the chapter-after-next was ready to go, but it seems that the end of it got eaten when RamBo decided to die earlier this year. So rewriting, so far, includes:

  • Rewriting the end of chapter 40.

  • Writing at least one more chapter, possibly as many as three. I lost an entire chapter from Carnistir's PoV; I had thought it unimportant but then remembered that the secret project on which Feanaro had been working earlier was revealed in this chapter. So yes, it is important. I had thought also that I might want to do a Feanaro chapter to discuss his feelings on Maitimo's situation. But he interacts with Maitimo a lot in the last few chapters regarding this, so I think it might be overkill. In other words, the Feanster will have to wait until I start my Nerdanel/Feanor portion of this epic to talk a lot again.

  • Rewrite the end of the chapter where Macalaure and Nelyo go to Alqualonde together.

  • Possibly rewrite the ending of the last official PoV section, at the New Year Festival. I'm not sure, as I haven't read this far yet. I seem to believe that this section remained intact.

But, what this means, is that I only have one more chapter ready for posting. :^/

So I will be going back to posting once per week, on Fridays. Perhaps, if inspiration seizes me and I can finish it all quickly and easily, I will resume twice-weekly postings. But I feel as though I wrote the end to this story in haste anyway, and I really don't want to write chapter endings solely to finish them for posting. It would suck to spend so much time perfecting the first 300K words only to have the last 50K go to Mandos for reasons of haste.
