In other words, the basement's back!

The painting and flooring were finished by the end of last week. Bobby started moving stuff back downstairs last weekend, and the storage pod in our driveway was picked up today, so everything's back in the house, although not everything's put together/away yet. However, while my parents and sis-in-law Erin were over last weekend, we did get all the furniture and TV carried back downstairs, so we have our living space back again! Huzzah!

Bobby had an art class last night, so we ate an early supper then, like Hobbits, a second supper later when he got home. Then we went downstairs, put on Ghosthunters, and I fell asleep on the couch with Bobby on one side, Alex on the other. It was bliss.

The contractor is still working on repairing the pump attached to the sink in the laundry room and finishing the stairs. We decided not to replace the carpet, so the lovely hardwood steps under the carpet have to be sanded and finished. Everything looks really good. Once it's all finished, I'll post pictures.

The flood was two months and 10 days ago today.
Today was a darling-free day because Bobby and I were both scheduled to take the special-ed PRAXIS exam this afternoon. (PRAXIS exams are used to certify teachers in particular areas. I've already taken English and Principles of Learning and Teaching [PLT] for middle and high school, but the state requires me to have special ed as well, since I teach in a special-ed school.)

I blew both the English and PLT tests out of the water, getting the highest score possible on the English test and a high enough score on both tests to receive a Recognition of Excellence award for being in the 85th percentile or above. Of course, I think that the AP tests that I took as a high school student were more difficult, but a feather in one's cap is a feather in one's cap, regardless.

I blew the special-ed test out of the water too. The highest possible score is 200. I got a 199. My goal was to get Recognition of Excellence for all three of my tests; it seems they don't do ROE for all tests--not sure if they do for special ed or not--but I think I likely would have qualified, if they did.

Bobby also passed, so this means that we have our endorsements in special ed and now have everything that we need to continue in our current school.
