This may well be an English/American thing, but I was always taught that ‘littler’ was poor grammar. I personally think ‘smaller’ or ‘younger’ is better, but I suspect it’s very much personal preference!

I like the confusion Carnistir is feeling here... trying not only to understand death but also the difference between 'normal' Elven death and the eternal death that Miriel chose. He seems extremely sensitive and I wonder if it drove him slightly mad eventually.

Ahh the first show of his legendary temper... such a terrible thing to say, be in it fear or otherwise. Though that he truly didn't mean it says something in his favour!

I like how their sitting room seems to be a 'real' family room; a place used and lived in rather then a formal room with no personality!

*Giggles* The thought of Fëanor cooking dinner is, for some reason, extremely amusing!

It's such a shame Carnistir's innocent naughtiness didn't last, it's adorable! But even at an early age he was a schemer which is something that stayed with him throughout his life.

//waited until he stood to open a new bottle of wine and stuck my entire slice of cheese-and-broccoli casserole onto his chair. He yelled pretty loudly when he sat down// All I can say here is: *Dies laughing!*

I really enjoyed the brotherly scene in the bedroom - so much so that I almost forgot to pause and tell you so! It was a lovely picture and very compelling in its simplicity.

Of course, then you had to go and shatter it! ;) The argument was very intense - a real battle of wills. Nice in a way, to see the strong-willed Nerdanel we've heard about. It was good to see the brothers sticking together through it all too.

*Snickers* You know, he's really too young to hear stuff like that! But the way in which you described it, with the mingling of colours was beautiful.

Good to see that Nerdanel got her way! But she was called the wise; clearly she knew how to make him see things her way, at least in those early days.

On an unrelated note, I read and drafted the reviews for both chapters 4 and 5 at work on Saturday, making a long and dull day go by much faster. I thank you for this and hope to get two more chapters read and reviewed next week!
