Really fresh anything is way better. I tried some gardening this year and then my darling husband killed all my little seedlings and I was just too depressed to try again. Fortunately, between various people at work with awesome gardens and Bob's Hardware (the local 'general store' in an old grist mill, they sell way more than hardware!) I've been able to get my hands on some really good fresh locally grown veggies. And y'know? It's not just that they taste better and don't have as many of the nasty pesticides - I know I've actually put some money back into our very depressed local economy, and that feels good, too.
