I would like to amend that for the fan fiction world to "Friends don't let friends write Mary Sues." Unless, of course, they are part of a well done comedy that makes fun of Mary Sues, but I think we would all agree that this story is not a comedy.
I disagree.
There is nothing wrong with writing a Mary Sue, if you want to write one.
Not that I don't mind a well written parody.
But there is really *nothing* wrong with writing a Mary Sue or a self-insertion (though I have to admit that for my part I lack the courage to write a self-insertion).
However, that reminds me it's high time for a parody about canatics rehashing for the 1,000th time what Tolkien already wrote and wrote so much better than those canon-obsessed twits...
I know some people may think I am weird that way, but if *I* want to read a canon story, I tend to pick up some books called "The Lord of the Rings", "The Hobbit" or even "The Silmarillion" by one J.R.R. Tolkien.
