Do tell, why did you create this romance for Maitimo?
This story wasn't written as a slash, so I didn't have Maedhros and Fingon in mind. At this point anyway, Fingon is only 13 years old (if I remember correctly; sad, isn't it, when you can't remember your own characters?) and so romance between them now would be...well, not something that I would envision. ;)
I can't tell you what happens to Maitimo and Annawende without spoiling the story, but I can tell you that I take to heart the quote in HoMe that says something along the lines of "Maedhros the eldest did not appear to be wed" (emphasis mine). As to what I do with that, I will leave up to my readers' imaginations. (Oh, I feel so mean! >;-D)
Sorry if my posts are irrelevant ramblings and of absolutely no use to you as a writer.
Please don't feel that way! Surely you've probably noticed that I tend to ramble a bit myself. ;) Also, I love to discuss all sorts of things pertaining to writing and The Silmarillion. From every person who is a regular commenter on this story, I have learned something, sometimes from the most innocent of conversations.
And it does help me as a writer, to know that you like my work. I get really down about my stories sometimes (I'm currently down about this one), and so it helps nudge me in the direction of fixing it and making it better rather than just wringing my hands in despair.
So, long story short (haha), thank you so much for taking the time to write your thoughts to me. I truly do appreciate it.
(And don't worry about *me* calling the men from the Happy Place. I don't want them to know where I am either! ;D)
