Middle-Earth would have been a lot more interesting if there had been High Queens-- but if they got E&E killed, they do deserve to lose. And they would have, too, because I can't really see Arwen as High Queen. I keep thinking of this potential exchange:
Messenger: Your Majesty, we need to arm our forces now!
Arwen: (vaguely) Oh... er... that's good. I'll sew you a banner.
