AMC--Chapter Nine

Yes, I am aware that, in Eastern Standard Time, Friday is now eleven hours and thirty-five minutes old, and I am just now getting to posting. Just think, half the day is gone! Shame on me ;)

If it's any consolation to you all waiting impatiently for AMC, I was supposed to update my RPG three days ago (and have not) and have a pile of stories for the literary magazine sitting in my inbox unread. So you all rank rather high in my priorities at the moment and should feel honored.

Okay, so here's Chapter Nine. It's the last one from Maitimo's PoV for a while. (Next is Nerdanel, so Arandil, get the cold shower primed and ready!) You will, at last, get to finally meet the oft-mentioned and ne'er-appearing Findekano, so that might offer some kind of consolation.

Thanks to Doyonil and evil_hero who gave this chapter a prelimary read for me. Evo, I haven't had time to add your suggestions yet; I am a lazy reviser and prefer to add everything at once. I thank you for your help! :)

Very Random Thoughts from a Bad Little Elf

I am a bad little Elf because I should be writing and am not. I have eighteen minutes before I can leave from work, and it seems silly to drag my story out when I won't have any time to work on it. I have pledged a page a day, though. If I have fifty pages left to write, this means that I can finish in a month-and-a-half, at least, accounting for the five days that I will be on holiday. So, hopefully, after I have my Friday-afternoon-preparing-to-stay-up-mad-late-Friday-night nap, then I can pop the disk into the 'puter and write at least a page. More would be nice, but I'll settle for a page :)

Backstroke of the West

ford_of_bruinen gave me this little gem, given to her by enismirdal.

After rolling on the floor for a good five minutes (and awaking my poor napping husband with my cackles of glee), I dusted myself off and decided that this *has* to be shared.

It is a translation of lines from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith from Chinese to English...only they'd already been translated from English to Chinese. Some things were...ummm...lost in the translation?

Example: The title of the movie? Star War: Backstroke of the West.
