A Poll to Humor Your Statistically Inclined Hostess ...

I am working on a post for The Heretic Loremaster and am really curious about how people see the attack on Sirion and its aftermath as it relates to Maedhros and Maglor, and Elrond and Elros. I would appreciate the input of anyone who wishes to take the following poll.

It's simple enough: Following are four scenarios common to Silmfic. Are they canon or not? Please don't belabor the point of "what is canon"; I am curious if they are canon based on how you define canon--not how I or anyone else does--whether that canon involves the Silm, the HoMe, or not. If you'd like to elaborate on your responses, please feel free to leave a comment.

And, also, if you know someone else who doesn't hang around here who might want to participate, do pass the word around! I would like to get as many responses as I can!

ETA: There are not necessarily correct answers to the "questions" in this poll. In fact, I think that any interpretation presented here can be argued for. I'm not looking to "quiz" participants but to get an idea how various people interpret the text(s) to derive what they view as "canon." Likewise, please don't feel that you need to look up what the books say before answering.

I just got that email from SWG and though "Damn!" ;)

I will let them know when you finish collecting data - just give me a hint then - and I'll link there the article when it's ready.

Not linking the one you just posted, though - in case they would answer basing on it. I'm sure that who is English speaker and interested will quickly find it anyway (some people might be in SWG since I linked them one discussion in the past. Or at least visit the archive from time to time. The rest will learn in a few weeks :)

I know. It was really coincidental timing. I was typing the email to SWG and saw I got a new message ... I had to chuckle because I've been putting off "SSPing" this particular post because I'm doing a bizarre experiment with myself regarding where my HL comments are mostly coming from. But your continuing the poll on Hobbiton gives me an excuse to play with the numbers more, which I wanted to do anyway. :)

I have two posts mostly finished that I want to post before revisiting this one. So let's say three weeks? I've been making about a post per week, so that will sit with my current schedule and should give some time to reply as well.

Yikes! Sorry ... Heretic Loremaster, my blog. I was curious if people were following it on RSS or if I really need to continue to let people know via LJ and other places when I make a post. (Conclusion so far: Yes I do! Tolkien fandom just does not seem to have caught on to RSS yet! :)
