Etymology

So many (slightly) different meanings, all of which are cavorting about in my head....

A Choice of Roads
They stopped at midday, when they reached a fork on the road, a place where the path deliquesced into three branches.

Nerdanel watched Fëanor ponder each choice.

To the left, they would cross gentle hills, alongside a river flowing fast with fresh, cold water.

To the right, they would pass through a town, where there would be grain for their horses, soft beds, and much revelry.

In front of them lay a path that led into the dark mystery of the mountains, brooding like hungry beasts on the horizon.

Fëanor nudged his horse forward. How like him to choose adventure.

I'm glad Feany chose the path toward Colorado. I'll look for him coming out of the Rockies. ;) Just joking!

Lol, or maybe the Rockies were just bigger to begin with? ;) And I mean..."impetuous" that would just call Feany right in!

Mountains do tend to feel large when one is climbing them...:)
